Who I Am
I'm Usama Zafar, a Full Stack Software Engineer based in Karachi, Pakistan with 5+ years of hands-on experience building everything from enterprise banking middleware to AI-powered SaaS platforms.
My journey started in 2020 with .NET and VB, evolved through enterprise middleware at Bank AL Habib — working with IBM Integration Bus, Oracle Service Bus, and complex banking systems — and has now grown into full-stack JavaScript, React, Next.js, and AI-integrated applications.
I like to consider myself passionate about IT and someone who knows how to adapt in every kind of environment. I believe every day is a learning process and an opportunity to grow.

Work Experience
Designing and delivering full-stack web applications within a modern JavaScript ecosystem. Architecting solutions using Next.js, React, Node.js, Redis, Supabase, and AWS — with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and developer experience. Actively integrating AI capabilities via Anthropic Claude and leveraging tools like Cursor AI to accelerate development workflows.
Served as a core member of the IT division at one of Pakistan's largest private banks, owning the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-grade integration services and internal applications. Engineered high-availability REST and SOAP APIs, event-driven queue-based flows, and middleware integrations using IBM IIB/ACE and Oracle Service Bus. Applied security hardening through Oracle API Gateway and IBM DataPower across critical banking services. Led full-stack development of new modules within AL HABIB PAYMENT SYSTEM (AHPS) — including architecting and delivering the RAAST Bulk Sending module end-to-end. Collaborated closely with IT Operations to ensure zero-downtime deployments and rapid incident resolution in production environments.
Launched career building production-grade HR systems for some of Pakistan's most recognized organizations — including Martin Dow, Summit Bank, and Patient Aids Foundation. Delivered multi-client, data-intensive applications with a consistent focus on reliability and clean architecture. Extended cross-platform capabilities by shipping a Flutter-based mobile application in parallel with core web development responsibilities.
